Standard EN SampleIron ores for blast furnace and direct reduction feedstocks - Determination of bulk density
Also Known As:
A standard called ISO 3852:2007 describes how to calculate the bulk density of iron ores used as feedstocks for direct reduction and blast furnaces. Two techniques are offered by the standard to determine the bulk density of iron ores. Both natural and processed iron ores with a maximum size of 40 mm can be used with Method 1. Contrarily, Method 2 is applicable to any type of natural or processed iron ore, independent of particle size.
The effectiveness and suitability of iron ores for blast furnace and direct reduction processes must be determined using these techniques. Bulk density is a crucial factor that influences these processes' effectiveness and efficiency. The standard makes sure that measurements are accurate, dependable, and consistent, enabling precise evaluation of iron ore samples.
