A framework for the nomenclature and essential measurements of various drilling equipment is provided by the ISO 3551-1:1992 standard. This standard ensures that, under certain parameters, the System A-covered equipment is interchangeable.
Drill rods and couplings, casings and associated parts (such as casing couplings, casing bits, casing shoes, driving shoes, and casing ream shells), as well as core barrels, core bits, core lifters, and reaming shells, are all included in the equipment defined by ISO 3551-1:1992.
The equipment's characteristics, which are intended for drilling holes with sizes ranging from 30 mm to 200 mm, are also specified by this standard. These drilling procedures produce core sizes that range from 18.5 mm to 165 mm.
