Iron ores - Determination of total iron content - Part 1: Titrimetric method after tin(II) chloride reduction

SKU193115834 Published by International Organization for Standardization ISO Publication Date2006-05 Pages CountPages20

A specific technique for ascertaining the total iron content of iron ores is provided in ISO 2597-1:2006. The technique employs a titrimetric approach and, after reducing trivalent iron using tin (II) chloride to its ferrous form, uses potassium dichromate. This standard was created especially for samples of iron ore that range in total iron content from 30% to 72% by mass. The technique can be used with several kinds of iron ores, such as native ores, concentrates, and agglomerates like sinter products.
