Standard EN SampleHard Coal - Size Analysis by Sieving
Also Known As:
Guidelines for measuring the size distribution of hard coal using manual sifting techniques are provided in the ISO 1953:1994 standard. These procedures can be carried out using either wet or dry sieving methods, and test sieves with aperture diameters ranging from 125 mm to 45 m are needed.
All hard coal varieties are covered under the standard, with the exception of coke and other produced fuels. It provides a sampling guide in Annex A, which is a useful resource while conducting the analysis. Additionally, Annex B offers usage notes for mechanical sieving, providing additional instruction on this method.
It is crucial to remember that the techniques outlined in the standard will only determine the proportion of large particles when working with pulverized coal. As a result, this standard might not be appropriate for examining the whole size distribution in samples of pulverized coal.
